Tapan Kanti Sarkar said, "According to BTRC, till February 2016, the number of internet users in Bangladesh has been reached up to 58.31 million."
"At a time, the users' attitude also got changed. That's the reason, almost all of the sectors in Bangladesh are trying to provide online transaction facility through introducing ultra-modern technology by changing the ancient one," he said.
"Along with the usage of technology, security threats are also increasing respectively and if we don't give importance on this issue, the expected positive result of digitalization will be obstructed. It is very natural that security threats will be uprising along with the usage of technology.
But, it is not possible to reduce the usage of technology. On the other hand, threats, too, are not expected. In that case, we need combined initiatives for solution and awareness.
Different initiatives have already been taken regarding security issue at different levels, both personally and collectively." If these initiatives are consolidated, there must be a huge success, which is quite necessary right at this moment.
Realizing this, CTO Forum has taken such initiative in order to emphasize on the movement to enhance the awareness. Speaking as Chief Guest, Secretary to ICT division Shyam Sunder Shikdar said, "ICT is the major appliance of a country's development. Our government is committed for country's socio-economic development and in ensuring the implementation of Digital Bangladesh."
