Promotion of information and communication technology (ICT) based audit could be the vital means of combating banking sector fraudulence. Large-scale application of ICT is also important for making the banking transactions and other services transparent, time-befitting and client-friendly in the present era of globalization. The observations came in the inaugural session of a five-day training titled "Computer on IT Audit" at ICT Division's Computer Training Laboratory in Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) here yesterday afternoon. Some 22 mid-level officers of the bank joined the course.
RAKUB Managing Direc-tor Shanaul Haque attended and addressed the session as chief guest with its training institute Principal Ataur Rahman in the chair. Faculty Member Md Arifuzzaman also spoke. He asked the participants to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to brighten the image of the bank along with taking it ahead successfully.
