Higher education for all is absurd: Prof Anisuzzaman

Professor Emeritus Dr Anisuzzaman said that achieving higher education is a public right and it's for all is an absurd idea. "Without having any talent and qualification, the ambition of taking higher education is nothing but embarrassing," he added.  He made the remark while speaking at the 5th convocation of Uttara University on Monday. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan were present at the program.  

Nahid in his speech emphasized ensuring the extended research opportunities in universities. The VC of Uttara University Prof Dr M Azizur Rahman said earning the knowledge the students' duty is to make a poverty-free country.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof Dr Eaysmin Ara Lekha, prominent academicians, Vice-Chancellors of different universities, businessmen were also present at the program.
