Roads of three upazilas unfit for transportation in Bogra

About 20 kilometers of total 40 km roads under Mokamtola-Sonatola-Shariakanti upazila of the district have become unfit for vehicles movement in Bogra. Ditches have appeared on several spots from Mokamtola-Sonatola route. Vehicles are running on these roads taking risk. One side has collapsed on several spots in Sonatola-Shariakandi parts of the road built on the flood control dam on the right bank of Jamuna river.  Mr. Abdul Halim, executive engineer Roads and Highway Deartment(HRD) Bogra said, 18-20 of 40 km road has become worsen. The worsen part needs to be reform quickly. Renovation work is going on in 3 km worsen areas among 16 km of Mokamtola-Sonatola road. Another 10 km to reform proposal under district road development (2nd Phase) has been sent.

Seen firsthand, the whole 16 km road from Mokamtola-Sonatola has been worn. Many large holes were created in several spots of this dilapidated road. Everyday many passenger laden buses run along this road from Shaghata upazila of Gaibandha district. About half km road from Baluyahat-Cotoboluya eidground under Sonatola upazila of the district has become worsen. Besides bank collaps of the dam, carpeting has been removed from different spots of the road from Pakullya kacaribazar-Shariakandi.

A bus passenger said, women who are pregnant or operation holder patients go to different places by bus or CNG auto rickshaw along this road. As the road condition is very poor, they are to suffer much. Mr. Jahangir Alam Akada, Mayor, Sonatola municipality Said, Sonatola dwellers are to go to the dist town everyday to serve many official and unofficial purpose. As the road is worn, their suffering knows no bound. Dwellers of these areas expect that their sufferings will be removed within a short time.
