Mega Beach Carnival to begin on January 14

Mega Beach Carnival-2017 will begin on January 14 for the first time at Kuakata beach in Patuakhali district. As part of the Tourism Year's programs to brand Bangladesh as a tourist destination with round-the-year events, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC) and non-government tourism organizations will host the 3-day carnival festivities.

Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Akhtaruz Zaman Khan Kabir briefed the details at a press conference on Sunday at BTB conference room in the city. Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith will inaugurate the grand opening of the three-day carnival with a colorful rally. Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon said this type of programme will promote our tourism industry. "Tourism is now not a matter of entertainment, it is a means of economic development. We will target our local tourist and then we will invite the tourist from the abroad," he said. The festival will feature special entertainment facilities such as beach football, beach cricket, volleyball, kite flying, local games, water bike, ATB rides, boat rowing, beach lighting, camp fire, Kuakata-Sundarban Sea cursing  and much more.
Visitors can also enjoy the famed sunrise and sunset at Kuakata beach.
