Borhanuddin Khan Zahangir's 81st birth anniversary

Shilpakala celebrates with pitha

Generally birthday is celebrated by cutting cakes, but prominent writer, art critic and educationist Professor Borhanuddin Khan Zahangir's birthday was celebrated in a traditional Bengali way. Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy celebrated his 81st birth anniversary through one batch of 81 traditional pithas, a famous food in Bengali culture.  The celebration took place on January 9 at the National Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy where different walks and professions of people were seen coming with flower garlands to pay respect the legendary writer as someone's friends, someone's teacher or someone's the most respected personality.

Arranged by Shilpakala Academy, the whole ceremony was chaired over by general director Liaquat Ali Lucky. Artist Hashem Khan, theatre personality Ramendu Majumder, Anwara Syed Haq, Dhaka University's Fine Art Faculty Dean artist Nisar Hossain, former Home Minister Mahiuddin Khan Alamgir, paid homage through placing garland and expressing feelings.
