The 9-days 15th Dhaka International Film Festival has been commenced on January 12. This year, the festival will feature films from 66 countries around the world. The festival will continue from January 12-20. This year the festival will feature Abbas Kiarostami's film "Close Up", "Taste of Cherry", "The Wind Will Carry Us", "Certified Copy", and "Like Someone in Love". From January 13-17, the films will be screened at 3pm at the main auditorium of National Museum. The Iranian auteur, who has died aged 76, specialised in a kind of realist-parable film-making that, despite its apparent simplicity, made him one of the great directors of our time. He died on July 4 in 2016.
