The 10th edition of the International Children's Film Festival Bangladesh will kick off countrywide from January 24 showcasing full length features, shorts, experimental films made for and by children from around the world.This year, the week-long festival will screen nearly 300 films created by renowned and aspiring directors from all over the world in 14 different venues in Bangladesh, said the organizers.
Started in 2008, it is one of the biggest film festivals in Bangladesh and also the only international film festival for children and young adults of the country. The event, which will commence at 9am on January 24 and end at 8pm on January 30, will be hosted by Children's Film Society Bangladesh with supported by Bangladesh Government.
Tickets will be available at the address: www.cfsbangladesh.org This year, the films will be screened in 14 different venues in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi and Rangpur. In Dhaka, the week-long festival will be held at seven venues simultaneously. The venues include: Sufia Kamal Auditorium of National Museum and Shawkat Osman Hall, Central Public Library in Shahbag area, Goethe Institut in Dhanmondi, British Council at Fuller Road, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Shegunbagicha, Alliance Francaise de Dhaka in Dhanmondi and Daffodil International University, Prince Plaza, Sobhanbag.
In Rajshahi, the films will be screened at three separate venues from January 24 - 27. Those are; Rajshahi Shilpakala Acadamy, Rajshahi Padma Mancho and Borokuthi Mukto Moncho In Rangpur, film lovers can watch films at Rangpur Town Hall from January 24 - 27 In Chittagong, the festival will be held at three venues from February 3 - 4. These include; A K Khan Memorial Hall, Fulki in Chittagong, Sabuj Sangha club, Chittagong Port and Durbar Mukta Scout Club, Chittagong Port.
