About the publication of the probe report on the reserve heist of Bangladesh Bank, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said the report will be published once entire stolen money returns from Philippines.
Muhith said this in response of a query of a reporter in a press conference when a delegation including the country director of World Bank met the minister on Monday.
Earlier, the minister said different deadlines of publishing the report several times. Meanwhile, the Philippine authority also sought the report. But the government denied giving it.
In February last year, 8 crore 10 lac US dollar was stolen from the reserve of Bangladesh Bank and the money was sent to Rizal Bank of Philippines. 1.5 crore US dollar has already been brought back.
Bangladesh is trying to recover the rest of the money. A probe committee was formed to investigate into this much-talked cyber heist.
Though the committee submitted the probe report six months ago, the Finance Minister hasn't published the report even after making announcement several times.
Finance Minister said, "I don't want someone gets opportunities escaping the responsibility. Rizal Bank is making excuses with the stolen money. They can't do so. They must return the money."
