Shahed Zaman's translations brought out in book fair
Three translation books of young writer Shahed Zaman have appeared in this year's Ekushey Book Fair. Zaman, however, claimed the works are not translations, rather adapted in Bengali for the booklovers. He translated 'The Forty Rules of Love'-a book of Elif Shafak, 'Headhunters of Jo Nesbo' and 'I Am Pilgrim' of Terry Hayes.
The Forty Rules of Love is a novel within a novel, which tells two parallel stories that mirror each other across two very different cultures and seven intervening centuries.
'Headhunters' is an action thriller, often described by saying- if you don't like the idea of being manipulated by a novelist, then perhaps you should avoid the book. Similarly spy fiction 'I am Pilgrim' is the debut novel written by former journalist and screenwriter Terry Hayes. It was published in 2013 in UK.
Zaman has the fascination for action thriller since his childhood. He completed his graduation on Microbiology and later started writing for Rahasya Patrika.
