State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroze Chumki yesterday said her government has been working to ensure overall empowerment of the women to achieve the status of a developed country.
"Our government has been relentlessly working to ensure overall development of women and their participation in all spheres of life to become a worthy nation in the South Asia by 2041 as well as get the recognition of a developed country status," she said while addressing the 61st meeting of the UN (United Nations) Commission as the chief guest at a city hotel. Nothing can be achieved without women as they make up half of the total population, she also said.
