EU envoy meets Khaleda

European Union Amba-ssador in Dhaka Pierre Mayaudon called on the BNP Chairperson yesterday after five days of US Ambassador Marcia Bernicat's meeting with Khaleda Zia. Pierre Mayaudon met Khaleda at her Gulshan office around 5pm. There was no briefing from either side about the meeting.

Meanwhile, several BNP leaders who attended the meeting said various issues, including Bangladesh's latest political situation, next general election, new Election Commission and human rights situation, were discussed at the meeting.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, its standing committee members Abdul Moyeen Khan and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, and BNP Chairperson's adviser Reaz Rahman were present during the meeting. Earlier on February 22, Bernicat met the BNP chief when they discussed a wide range of issues relating to Bangladesh politics and matters of mutual interest of the two countries.
