'Student cabinet polls for democratic values'


Speakers at a regional workshop here today said the government has introduced student cabinet election for the secondary level educational institutions to establish democratic practice and values.

The main objection of holding student cabinet elections is to create quality leadership, establish of democratic values and to check dropout from schools, they added.

The regional workshop on Student Cabinet Election-2017 was held at Khulna Boyra College Auditorium in the city with the theme of "Shikkha Nie Gorbo Desh, Sheikh Hasinar Bangladesh" (After taking education, we will build Bangladesh, the country of Sheikh Hasina).

Khulna Regional Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Department organized the workshop aiming at holding free, fair and peaceful nonpolitical student cabinet elections, schedule to be held on March 30 in 23,000 secondary educational institutions, across the country, reports BSS.

Joint secretary of the Education Ministry Shafiuddin Ahmed addressed the workshop as chief guest while Director of Department of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education in Khulna Region T M Zakir Hossain was in the chair.
