President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday congratulated all the players and officials of Bangladesh cricket team for their victory against Sri Lanka in the 100th Test match. Sheikh Hasina talked to Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and ace allrounder Shakib Al Hasan over phone and congratulated them on their historic Test victory against Sri Lanka.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina talked to Mushfiq and Shakib over phone immediately after Bangladesh's victory in their centenary Test against Sri Lanka and extended her heartiest greetings to them for the win," PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told journalists.
Sheikh Hasina congratulated them uttering 'Joy Bangla' and prayed for continued success of the Bangladesh cricket team. "I pray for you to keep up the achievements," the press secretary quoted the premier as saying.
Touring Bangladesh beat host Sri Lanka by four wickets in the second test and leveled the series. This match was the 100th number Test match for Bangladesh. Bangladesh is the fourth country that sealed win in their 100th Test match. The other three countries are Australia, West Indies and Pakistan.
