Chief Justice going to India

Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha is going to visit India with a view to attending an international conference on environment. The personal secretary to the Chief Justice has confirmed this.

In absence of the Chief Justice, Justice Abdul Ohab Mia will conduct the trial proceedings of the Appellate Division. Law Secretary Abul Saleh Sheikh Md Jahirul Haque issued a notification in this regard yesterday by the order of the President. Mohammad Anisur Rahman, the personal secretary to the Chief Justice, said the Chief Justice is going to attend a conference on environment in India. Earlier, he visited India, USA, UAE, Australia,  Russia, Belarus and Philippines.

The Chief Justice visited the USA and India at the invitations of Bangladesh Law Society in USA and the Chief Justice of India respectively. Besides, he visited Philippines to attend a conference organized at the initiative of  Asian Development Bank (ADB)
