In a rare interview, Bob Dylan has admitted he's a fan of Amy Winehouse and Adele 's version of his track Make You Feel My Love. In a lengthy and long ranging chat for his his own website, Bob was asked what he thought about the fact his song has become a new standard and if any of the covers by the likes of Adele, Garth Brooks and Billy Joel knocked him out? "Yeah, one after the other, they all did," he said. And asked about any new music he liked, Bob name checked a few artists including Amy Winehouse.
"Iggy Pop's Après, that's a good record. Imelda May, I like her. Valerie June, The Stereophonics. I like Willie Nelson and Norah Jones' album with Wynton Marsalis, the Ray Charles tribute record. I liked Amy Winehouse's last record."
Asked if he was a fan of Amy's he said, "Yeah, absolutely. She was the last real individualist around."
As for his latest album Triplicate, which some people have called nostalgic, Bob doesn't agree, "Nostalgic? No I wouldn't say that. It's not taking a trip down memory lane or longing and yearning for the good old days or fond memories of what's no more. A song like Sentimental Journey is not a way back when song, it doesn't emulate the past, it's attainable and down to earth, it's in the here and now."
