Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) will preserve and conserve the existing social, cultural and archeological heritages here aims at familiarizing the new generation with those, RCC sources said on Friday.
To this end, the city corporation will develop and promote necessary infrastructures. It has formulated a project titled "Sustainable Development of the city through conservation and development of social, cultural, environmental and archeological infrastructures".
The project will be implemented with an estimated cost of around Taka 21.96 crore. Indian Government will donate the cost. A memorandum of understanding has already been signed to this end on January 29 last.
RCC authority held a meeting in its Mayor Office on Sunday discussing ways and means on how to implement the project successfully, reports BSS. In the meeting, RCC Mayor Mosaddique Hossain Bulbul and Assistant Indian High Commiss-ioner Avijit Chottopadhya discussed overall aspects of the project. They said the RCC signed the MoU with India to conserve and develop the existing social, cultural, environmental and archeological infrastructures in the city.
