Drug trader killed in Savar gunfight
A suspected drug trader was killed in a reported gunfight between his cohorts and police at Birulia in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital, early Friday.

Police said they arrested Muktar Hossain Mukti, an alleged drug and son of Aktar Hossain, from Chotobali Meher area on Thursday.

Later, police along with Muktar conducted a drive in the area to arrest his associates in the dead of night, said SM Kamruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station.

Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the criminals opened fire towards police, prompting them to retaliate, triggering a gunfight.
