Chand Raat is celebrated before one night of blissful holy Eid festival. This is more joyful & delightful because everybody is enormous excited for fantastic Eid & busy in preparation to celebrate this glorious idyllic event with lot of fun. Especially girls are most thrilling and enjoy chand raat with fellow friends, cousins.
They wear colorful bangles with matching theme their dresses and apply exquisite ethnic henna mehndi designs on arms, hands and foot. The intricate designs are drawn onto the hands and feet and left to dry for a few hours or overnight. When the dried paste flakes away, a rich, red color is left.
To wear a beautiful mehendi design on your hands or foot first you need a Henna (mehendi) cone. Mehndi cones can be bought from the nearest beauty store or can be made at home. Then you need a Henna design and Tissue paper. When you are starting to wear mehendi you have to follow some steps, such as:
* At the narrow end of the cone you can see a pin. Take out the pin and keep it in a safe place. You will need the pin again to put it back in the cone when the work is done.
* Hold the mehndi cone in the same way in which you hold a pen or pencil. Squeeze the cone a little bit until the paste starts to come out. Do not apply too much pressure at once otherwise a large amount of mehndi will come out at once. In the beginning, a black mixture will come out. Keep squeezing it lightly till the light color mixture comes out.
* When you are applying mehndi on your own hand start from the farthest point which is the tip of your finger and keep on moving down.
* Now hold the cone firmly and look at the design which you want to apply and lightly squeeze the cone till thin line of mehndi starts coming out and start applying on your hands.
* If you want to enrich your design you can also use glitter cone but it's totally optional.
Nowadays the henna cone contains some chemicals, so if you are allergic or your skin is sensitive, then check a little amount of henna on your palm before making the whole design. If it gives you itchy or burning feeling, do not use it. Sometimes, it happens when the henna is expired so make sure to use the fresh one.
Henna gives different color on different skins. On palms, the color is darkest, near to black sometimes. On the other side of hand, the color is much lighter and then on arm it gets lighter. The color comes best after one or two days.
