Elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) nabbed three drug smugglers and recovered 600 bottles of phensidyl from a truck at Baroairhat area on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in the district on Friday morning, RAB sources said.
Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) also detained a Chittagong-bound truck which was carrying 600 bottles of phensidyl. The arrested drug smugglers identified as Mohammed Abdur Rahim (26), son of Mohammed Abul Hashem, Mohammed Harun (35), son of Serajul Islam, Mohammed Sumon Meah (32), son of Jahangir Alam.
Acting on secret information, a team of RAB-7 raided at Bariar Hat area under Mirerswari upazila in Chittagong and and arrested drug traders Abdur Rahim, 23, Mohammad Harun, 36, and Suman Mia, 27, with 600 bottles of phensidyl and detained a truck (Dhaka Metro:Ta-11-2565).
RAB officials said, in this drive they recovered 600 bottles of phensidyl syrup worth around taka 3 lakh. A case was filed with Mirarsari thana in this connection.
