Information minister Hasanul Haq Inu thinks banning Dhallywood actor Shakib Khan is mysterious.
The minister said this during an interview with Ekattor TV on Friday.
“The film industry has seen a new beginning under the leadership of renowned actor Shakib Khan. But he was banned twice in past few months,” Inu told the private TV station.
“Incidents like banning Shakib and Jaaz Multimedia look mysterious to me,” he added.
The minister also said that the film fraternity including actors, directors, producers, and other artistes is inflicted with internal business clashes.
“In this case, I don’t find any reason why they are involving the government or the minster in the clashes,” he said adding, “I think this is mysterious.”
The Bangladesh Chalachitra Paribar, a platform of 16 film industry unions, on 25 June banned Shakib Khan over his remarks about the protesting artistes against joint-production films.
There are now virtually two factions in the industry centring joint-production films.
One group banned Shakib Khan and Jaaz Multimedia for the recently released two joint-production films - 'Nabab', and 'Boss-2'.
Leaders of the group also demanded the resignation of information minister Hasanul Haq Inu for giving censor certificates to the two films.
They claimed that 'Nabab', featuring Shakib Khan, and 'Boss-2' featuring Nusrat Faria, did not follow the country's joint-production rules.
