Exports to China jumps 17 percent

Bangladesh's exports to China stood at $949.41 million, seeing a jump by 17.48 per cent in the last fiscal year. Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) statistics released recently revealed that country's export to China stood at $949.41 million in FY17 while the amount was $808.14 million in FY16.

According to the EPB disclosure, export to China jumped by four times in eight years. In FY10, Bangladesh export to China was only $180 million. China provides a very wide preferential treatment to Bangladeshi products with some zero-tariff access.

The preferential market access has significant contributions to boost Bangladesh's export to China. Bangladesh's exports to China continue to rise without any big disruption over the years.
