Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited has launched Agent Banking with a view to reaching banking services to the door-steps of unbanked people across rural areas. First Agent Banking center of the bank was inaugurated at Bou Barza in Savar on Saturday.
Managing Director and CEO of the bank Md Abdul Hamid Miah, as chief guest, inaugurated the center while General Manager of Bangladesh Bank Md Abul Boshor, Additional Managing Director of the bank Md Mahbub-ul-Alam, Deputy Managing Director Md Taher Ahmed Chowdhury and Birulia Union Chairman Md Saidur Rahman Sujon addressed as special guests in the program.
Deputy Managing Director Md Abu Reza presided over the program while the inaugural ceremony was attended by Md Yeahia, Md Habibur Rahman Bhuiyan FCA, Abdus Sadeque Bhuiyan, Md Shamsuzzaman, Mohammed Monirul Moula, Deputy Managing Directors, Zafar Alam and Md Mahboob Alam, Executive Vice Presidents along with executives, local businesspersons and social elites.
Speakers of the program said, Islami Bank's Agent Banking will serve account opening, cash receiving and payment, foreign remittance payment, fund transfer, utility bill collection, cheque requisition, fund transfer, balance inquiry, debit and credit card application, internet banking, Mcash account opening and agriculture and microcredit.
