Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) President Abul Kasem Khan on Monday said Bangladesh must diversify its exportable products along with quality value addition of the products to take advantage of export to China.
"If we want to export to China, we must diversify our exportable products," he said adding that China is a very big market and they produce diversified items and export worldwide.
He was addressing a two-day training on 'how to export to China through e-commerce' jointly organized by the DCCI and International Trade Centre at the DCCI auditorium.
Economic and Commercial Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka Li Guangjun was present and inaugurated the training. About 25 participants took part in the training session.
The DCCI President said the bilateral trade between Bangladesh and China has witnessed impressive 200 percent growth to US$10 billion.
Over the last five years Chinese FDI to Bangladesh has marked 100 percent growth, he informed.
Welcoming the participants, the DCCI President said small and medium entrepreneurs especially who are involved in e-commerce will be benefitted by this training course.
Li Guangjun said Bangladeshi SMEs can export to China through e-commerce, said a press release.
He said China encourages LDC countries to export their products to the Chinese market and Bangladeshi products have huge demand in China.
