Businessman shot in broad daylight at Maghbazar


A businessman was shot in broad daylight in city's Maghbazar area yesterday. The wounded was identified as Anwar Hossen, 55, president of Bangladesh Medical Device Association. He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) by his relatives at 11:00am, DMCH police outpost SI Md Bacchu Mia said. "Anwar was driving his own car from Eskaton residence to nearby Dilu Road. Some unidentified miscreants fired three rounds of bullet at him at that time," Quoting the relatives, he said.

"Two bullets missed while the third one hit his shoulder. However, he is out of danger," the doctors said. Maruf Hossain Sardar, deputy commissioner of DMP (Ramna division) opined that it was not a mugging or snatching incident. Police were looking into the matter.
