BD footballers harassed on Israeli border

The question was raised about the security before the departure of Bangladesh football team for playing in Palestine. Assurance of all securities was given from AFC. Bangladesh. Bangladesh team has gone to Palestine to play in the qualifying round of Under-23 Championship. Though Bangladeshi young footballers safely reached Palestine on Monday, they became victims of harassment on Israel border.

Bangladesh Under-23 squad couldn't go to Palestine directly by air. Bangladesh had transit in Dubai after playing two warm-up matches in Nepal and Qatar. Then the Bangladesh team went to Jordan by air from Dubai. They reached Palestine after traveling 12 hours by bus through the border along Israel. The security was tight on Israel border.  Though AFC earlier informed Israel the itinerary, the Bangladeshi young footballers fell in troubles.

The manager of the team Satyajit Das Rup has got upset at the sufferings of his footballers on Israel border. He said, "At last, we have reached Palestine. We underwent sufferings on Israel border for three and half hours. It is unfortunate."
Bangladesh is scheduled to play the first match with Jordan on July 18. Later the Bangladeshi youths will play with Tajikistan and Palestine on July 21 and 23 respectively.
