Bangladesh has conveyed the UN forum that Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are high on agenda in Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's commitment and the government is keen to engage with all relevant stakeholders to that end.
Planning Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal led the 22-member Bangladesh delegation at the United Nations High Level Political Forum (HLPF) on sustainable development held from July 10-19 in New York.
Principal Coordinator (SDG Affairs) at the Prime Minister's Office Md Abul Kalam Azad made a presentation at the Voluntary National Review segment on the progress made so far and what is going to be done to achieve the SDGs, said a PID handout on Thursday.
Bangladesh now looks for ways to address challenges in several areas, including resource mobilisation and data management, to achieve the SDGs the way it became successful in achieving the MDGs, officials said.
Bangladesh was one of the 44 countries which attended the United Nations High Level Political Forum (HLPF) on sustainable development.
