Nafakhum is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Bangladesh and an excellent place to travel. It is among the largest waterfalls in the country by volume of water falling. The wild hilly river Sangu suddenly falls down here about 25-30 feet. The word "Khum" in Marma language means "Waterfall". A special type of flying fish, whose local name is nating, is found at the bottom in a small cave as they swim against the stream but cannot jump over the height of the fall. Every traveler should have a tour plan to visit this beautiful tourism spot of Bandarban at least once and then they will feel to visit that travel spot again and again.
Nafakhum is situated at a remote area called Tindu of Thanchi upazilla under Bandarban Hill District in Bangladesh. It's near to Bangladesh Myanmar Border. This waterfall is situated in one of the most remote areas in Bandarban. Travelers should reach to Bandarban if they are interested to have a tour to this Nafakhum waterfall. There are many bus services among the districts of Bangladesh to reach Bandarban.
To reach Amiakum waterfall you have to make a trip from Bandarban to thanchi by "Chander Gari" (public jeep) or a private vehicle.Travel to Nafakhum need to hire a Tour guide and also must enter full name, address and contact number at the Army camp of Remakri, Bandarban before hiring a tour guide. There is a tour guide committee and that tour guide committee will select an experienced tour guide for every person. The traveler needs to hire a Boat for the adventurous journey of Thanchi to Remakri. Everybody have to hire an engine boat to reach Remakri from Thanchi, because there is no rowing or paddle boat there.
