Bangladesh Premier League franchise Comilla Victorians have secured the services of England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Butler for the upcoming edition, coach Mohammad Salahuddin confirmed on Friday, reports cricbuzz. "We are delighted to have him," Salahuddin told Cricbuzz.
"He is a fantastic cricketer and we hope he does justice to his name. We are making our plans for the tournament keeping him as one of our key members who can help us in achieving our goals," added Salahuddin, who was in-charge when the franchise clinched their maiden title in 2015-16. Buttler captained England on the one-day leg of their tour to Bangladesh last winter when regular skipper, Eoin Morgan, pulled out due to security concerns.
Regarded as one of the most destructive players in the present day for his abilities as a finisher, the Englishman is expected to be available for the full course of the tournament for the Victorians. Buttler is understood to be one of the many English cricketers approached by the BPL franchises ahead of the fifth season.
