Ahead of holy Eid-ul-Azha, the sale of advance tickets for long-distance buses will be started from August 18.
Faruk Talukder, President of Bangladesh Bus Truck Owners Association said , this advance ticket for the Eid will be sold at the respective bus counters from 6am in the morning on August 18.
"Now, we will sell the advance ticket considering September 2 as Eid day. The most demand for ticket will be on 30 and 31 August as some people will leave Dhaka on August 30, the day before last working day and some will leave on 31 August” said Hanif Enterprise General Manager Abdus Samad.
About the advance ticket for the train, Railway Minister Mujibul Haque said, "The decision has not been made yet. You will be informed soon.”
Every year, tens of thousands of people leave the capital, Dhaka, to celebrate Eid with their families and friends. But their journey turns bitter largely due to traffic jam, overcharging of tickets and delays in bus and train schedule.
