Pakistan cricketer dies while batting without helmet

A Pakistani club cricketer died after being struck on the head while batting without helmet during a club match in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Monday (August 14), reports Pakistan Today.

The ball struck on the head of Zubair Ahmed while he was batting during a game in Mardan district. It proved to be a fatal blow.

The Pakistan Cricket Board announced the tragic death of Zubair on twitter, paying condolence to the unfortunate family of the player and stressed on other cricketers to use helmets on regular basis in the matches.

The player is reported to have been playing without a helmet which is pressuring over accidents to occur even with precautions.

Death of the young cricketer belonged to Fakhar Zaman Academy was also followed with a condolence message from commentator and former international cricketer of Australia Dean Jones via twitter.

Zubair has played four matches for the List-A and T20 team Quetta Bears of Pakistan.
