Quader expects India to stand by Bangladesh

Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Sunday  expressed his hope that neighboring country India will stand by Bangladesh over the Rohingya issue.

"Different countries across the world expressed concern over the Rohingya issue. India also did that. We want the neighboring country will support Bangladesh which is very important for us at this moment," he told newsmen while visiting the activities of mobile court of BRTA at Manik Miah avenue here.

The minister said India stood beside Bangladesh during the Liberation War. "We hope India will favor Bangladesh in this humanitarian crisis too," he added. Quader said as many as three lakh Rohingya people have entered Bangladesh. He sought cooperation from all to help the government to cope with the influx of Rohingya people.
