Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member Goye-shwar Chandra Roy said on Tuesday that just one verdict from the Supreme Court has virtually caused Chikungunya to ruling party Awami League.
He further said there is another court which is people's court. The country's people would prosecute Awami League in course of time, Goyeshwar Chandra Roy added.
Goyeshwar made this comment while addressing a discussion at Dhaka Reporters Unity. The senior leader of the party said Awami League does not have power to carry out another election like 2014 even if BNP remains silent. Ninety percent people of Bangladesh don't like Awami Leauge.
He called upon the country's people to put confidence on BNP and Begum Khaleda Zia. He said people would restrain the government from conducting another election like 5 January 2014.
Aiming at Obaidul Quader, general secretary of Awami League, Goyeshwar said, "You guys are afraid of losing power. That's why you have been talking too much."
The program was presided over by BNP Mohila Dol president Afroza Abbas and it was conducted by general secretary Sultana Ahmed. Some more leaders and activists of BNP were also present at that time.
