Governmental, non-governmental and international stakeholders took part in a meeting at Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in the wake of Rohingya influx in border areas. The meeting, presided over by Additional Director General of DGHS AHM Enayet Hussain, described the health issues on Rohingya refugee perspective.
DGHS DG Prof Abul Kalam Azad informed the meeting about the directives of the prime minister and shared his first hand experiences of Cox's Bazar and Bandarban visit. The directives include appointing sufficient number of doctors, nurses and medical staff, ensuring proper distribution of medicines and other medical services at Rohingya camps and maintaining round the clock coordination with the government cell for Rohingya refugees.
The meeting was also informed that DGHS cell would review and analyze the activities every day. The representatives from GO and NGOs at the meeting assured their best cooperation in this regard.
