Tisha's classmates mourn her death

Mirpur Girls Ideal Laboratory Institute postponed all its classes and examinations yesterday mourning the death of Tasnim Alam Tisha, a fifth grader of the school. The 12-year kid was rammed over by a bus on Tuesday under city's Kafrul police station while crossing the road with the mother.  

In the meantime, father of the deceased Khorshed Alam filed a case with the Kafrul Police Station accusing the driver Abdul Rahim. The passengers apprehended the driver soon after the accident. However, the helper of the bus managed to escape the scene.

Principal of the educational institution Osman Gani said that they were shocked at the immature death of Tisha. "We decided to postpone a day's academic activities to mourn the death. However, the official activities will continue," he said.

Kafrul police OC Sikder Mohammad Shameem said that the case was registered on Tuesday night under Section 279 and 304 (b) of the Penal Code.     The accident took place near Life Aid Specialized Hospital Pvt Ltd on Rokeya Sarani in Kazipara area at around 12:45pm on Tuesday when an Agargaon-bound bus of Tetulia Paribahan from Mirpur 10 hit Tisha while she was crossing the road. The death of the kid triggered an angry protest on Tuesday.

The agitated locals set fire to the bus, halting vehicular movement on the road for around 2 hours. On receiving information, fire service men reached the spot and doused the fire of the bus and removed it from the road.
