Bangladesh receives 10 WCIT awards

Bangladesh received 10 awards at the 21st Conference of the World Congress of Information Technology (WCIT) which is called as Olympic of Information Communica-tion and Technology.  On the last day of the conference on Tuesday, Taiwan Prime Minister William Lai and Chairman of World Information Technology and Service Alliance (WITSA) Yvonne Chiu handed over the awards to the public-private sector and company representatives of Bangl-adesh.

The WCIT meet held at Taipei Interna-tional Convention Center  (TICC) where  Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Executive Director Swapan Kumar Sarkar, Bangladesh Computer Samity President Ali Ashfaq, Director General of Bangladesh Postal Department, Sushanto Kumar Mondal, Joint Director of the Department of Information Technology and project director of Info Sarkar-3 Bikarna Kumar Ghosh were present at the award ceremony along with 52-member delegation of government and non-governmental organizations.

In WITSA-2017 ICT Award: Merit Unions (Honorable Mansion), Amra Networks Limited gets Private Sector Excellence Award, Daffodil International University and Bangladesh Post Office get Sustainable Growth Award.  In Mobile Excellence Award-Asia-2017 category, Fiber-at-Home Limited gets the award in Creating Inclusive Digital Outreach Category - For Info Sarkar Project, Business Automation Limited, gets Open Digital Governance Category for Hajj Management Information System Project, Bangladesh Post office, Trade Facilitation and e-Commerce Category - postal cash card: Banking to the unbanked people for the project.  And Aasso Award 2017, We gets Most Outstanding ICT Company Category, Bangladesh Post Office, and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) 4.
