9,000 solar panels set up in Mymensingh

The District Administration of Mymensingh set up over nine thousand solar energy system at a cost of over Tk 20 crore in 13 upazilas of the district under Test Relief (TR) program. District Relief and Rehabilitation Office (DRRO) sources said solar panels were distributed among the poor families with a view to getting them interested in consuming solar energy. The beneficiaries were very happy and expressed satisfaction over the initiatives taken by the government, reports BSS.

Of the total, 405 solar panels were set up spending over Tk 1.39 crore in Haluaghat upazila, 432 panels spending Tk over one crore in Dobaura upazila, 731 panels spending Tk 1.19 crore in Phulpur upazila, 706 panels spending Tk over 81 lakh in Tarakandha, 634 panels spending Tk over 1.74 crore in Gouripur upazilas and 546 panels spending Tk over two crore in Sadar upazila. DRRO Mohammad Hossen told BSS that over eight thousand more solar panels have sanctioned in the district for distribution.
