The 38th death anniversary of Mukundalal Sarker, a prominent leader of anti-British Movement and a war veteran of 1971 will be observed today.
Born in Muksedpur Upazila of Gopalgonj district in 1909, he played an important role in building a strong resistance against the imperialist forces and actively participated in the movement against Zamindary system.
Sarker was imprisoned under defense of Pakistan rule in 1965. He was very close to Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy, Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq, Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
