Bangladesh Brand Forum has completed the fourth edition of Digital Marketing Summit on Saturday and initiated the first edition of Digital Marketing Award. Presented by Meghna Group of Industries, the Digital Marketing Summit 2017 engaged the local digital marketing fraternity with four global experts, and shaped a knowledge-sharing platform through various other segments.
The theme for this year's summit was 'Strategy into Action'. Powered by Wizards Ad Networks and organized in association with The Daily Star, the daylong summit was held at Le Meridien Hotel in the city.
Incepted in 2014, Digital Marketing Summit has been a central platform for marketing enthusiasts, advertising experts, and creative professionals, where they learn and share the best and latest digital marketing practices. This year's summit was designed with four keynote sessions, three panel discussions, five breakout sessions, two case study presentations, and two insight sessions.
The summit also observed the official launching of Wizards Ad Networks that has been operating as a beta for last one year. The esteemed keynote speakers were - Zaved Akhter, Director (Marke-ting Transformation) at Unilever, South Asia; Farhan Qureshi, Head of South Asian Frontier Markets at Google; Sanjay Vaghasia, Chief Digital Officer at Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd.; and Dan Clarke, CEO & Founder, disruptient.
Three-panel discussions were held comprising around 15 local industry stakeholders as panelists. Those discussions focused on the following topics - 'Building the next digital marketing campaign - The Perfect Recipe', 'Are we using mobile advertising effectively?' and 'Creating content that delivers result'. Two case studies were presented by Wizards Ad Networks and Picka-boo.com respectively.
Two insight sessions were taken by Asif Iqbal, Executive Director of Marketing, Meghna Group of Industries and Ayman Sadiq, Founder of 10 Minute School. These insight sessions focused on the topics, respectively - 'Why music can be the next platform for brands?' and 'Digital marketing hacks without the technicality and boosting'.
The daylong summit was followed by the first Digital Marketing Award in the evening, where the most successful digital campaigns of 2016 were awarded across 13 different categories. The awards were given in three ranks - Grand Prix, Gold and Silver.
All together 50 campaigns were awarded this year, out of which 12 were Grand Prix, 22 were Gold and 16 were Silver awards. The Grand Prix for Best Integrated Digital Campaign was awarded to 'Aynabazithe Movie' executed by Melonades.
