Veteran leader of Communist Party of India (CPI) comrade Satya Bhattacharya breathed his last on Saturday night at a hospital in Kolkata. The leader, well-known as Satya Da, was 89. The prominent political leader of West Bengal Left Front, who preferred to remain out of publicity, had close communications with the progressive political figures of Bangladesh.
"His demise is a great loss for Bangladesh also," expressing profound shock, central leaders of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) said.While contracted, CPB International Department Chief Advocate Hasan Tarique Chowdhury commented that his demise has created a political and intellectual vacuum which can't be fulfilled. He was a true friend of Bangladesh and its people. They also recalled the contribution of the senior to the Liberation War in 1971.
