BCL activist shot in Brahmanbaria

An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has sustained bullet injuries in Brahmanbaria. The incident took place near Khan Tower at College Para in Brahmanbaria town around 08:30pm on Monday.

The injured was identified as Jibon, son of Late Akbar Ali of College Para. He was referred to Dhaka in a critical condition.

Locals said, Jaher Mia, a Chhatra Dal activist of the area, beat up Al Amin, the brother-in-law (sister's husband) of Brahma-nbaria Sadar Upazila Chhatra Dal Joint Convener Mamun Mia, on Sunday evening. Over this incident, Mamun and Jaher locked into altercation and scuffle near Khan Tower on Monday.

When Chhatra League activist Jibon came to the spot to calm down them, Jaher's nephew (sister's son) Sujon shot Jibon from behind. Jibon was first rushed to Sadar Hospital and doctors referred him to Dhaka.

Confirming the incident, the officer-in-charge of Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station Md Nabir Hossain said police arrested the main accused Sujon in a drive after the incident.
