6,500 receive training on ICT from hi-tech parks


Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) has imparted trainings to around 6,500 youths in different areas of Inform-ation and Communication Technology (ICT).

"We have imparted trainings to around 6,500 youths so far to enable them to get employment capitalizing on their skills in the field of ICT. Of them, around 4,700 trainees have already got jobs under Employment Incentive Program," BHTPA Managing Dire-ctor Hosne Ara Begum told, reports BSS.

She said BHTPA has been providing training to youths under Skill Enhancement Program, Mid Level Program, Company Certification Program, C-Level Training Program, Training on Lean Six Sigma, Oracle and Systems Applications and Products (SAP) with a view to developing human resources.

Under the "Support to Development of Kaliakair Hi-Tech Park (And Other High-Tech Parks)" project, 40 institutions have been given cooperation to get global certification for capability enhancement. BHTPA sources said certification activities of 38 institutions have already completed.

Among those, 24 institutions have get ISO 9001 and three ISO-27001, nine CMMI Level-3, two CMMI Level-5 certifications.
