One to die for farmer’s murder
A Netrokona court has sentenced a man to death for the murder of a farmer.
The Netrokona District and Sessions Judge’s Court issued the verdict in the 2012 case on Wednesday.
The court also fined the convict Tk 20,000.
The convict, Rubel Miah, 27, was in court to hear the verdict.
In 2012, farmer Abul Monsur was hacked to death near the local Ganesh Haor, said acting Public Prosecutor Saiful Islam Pradeep.
His father, Siddique Miah, filed a case over the murder, accusing three. Police filed charges against Miah in 2013.
“Rubel Miah and Abul Monsur were from the same village and were engaged in a feud over land. We proved before the court that Rubel had murdered him over the dispute.
