Minister for Public Works and Housing Engineer Mosharraf Hossain MP termed main opposition BNP as a terrorism based political party. "They (BNP) tried to destroy the progress and development process of the country by terrorism. The BNP wants to occupy the power by creating anarchy and terrorism in Bangladesh."
Addressing the grand rally of Chittagong district community policing at Jorarganj High School ground as chief guest on Thursday morning, the presidium member of ruling Awami League Engineer Mosharraf Hossain also alleged that "BNP ransacked hundreds of shops and establishments, burnt hundreds of vehicles at Mirerswari and Sitakunda area earlier. They killed common people by patrol bomb and created anarchy in the country."
Appreciating the role of Chittagong district community policing during the terrorism of BNP, Hossain said, if police and people were friend of each others, the society will be crime free. "The police should be more peoples friendly in this regard."
He lauded the role of police as they played a vital role to resist e militancy and terrorism in Bangladesh. "As per declaration of our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, our police force showed zero tolerance to the militancy and terrorism."
According to him, only police could resist the militancy and terrorism in Bangladesh without any other forces. "Bangladesh is progressing day by day under the leadership of Prime Minister sheikh Hasina. "The future of Bangladesh will be a developed country."
Indicating to Mirerswari upazila, he further said, "Mirerswari is the land of banks. The largest economic zone of the country will be set up at Mirerswari upazila in Chittagong. Moreover, 5 lakh people will get jobs in the economic zone."
The rally was presided over by the Superinte-ndent of Police (SP) of Chittagong Nur-e- Alam Mina. The Inspector General (IG) of police A K M Shahidul Haque addressed the rally as key speaker while Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Chittagong Shafiqul Islam, Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Iqbal Bahar, Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Mohammad Shamsul Arefin addressed the function as special guests.
Addressing the rally IG of police A K M Shahidul Haque said, the conspiracy against Bangladesh is still continuing. "Jamaat-e- Islami tried to destroy the progress of Bangladesh in the name of Islam. The Jamaat burnt the common people in 2013, killed 16 policemen. The Jamaat is a terrorist's organization.
Jamaat has no right to continue politics in Bangladesh." The chief of Bangladesh Police A K M Shahidul Haque also said police and people should work together for smooth law and order situation in the country.
