A total of 396 more households, including some charitable organizations, get new power connections in nine villages under Charghat Upazilas of the district Friday.
In this connection, local office of Rural Electrification Board (REB) installed 6.058 kilometers of power distribution line and 31 transformers at a cost of around Taka 18.02 crore.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, MP, inaugurated the power supply schemes at Vayaluxmipur area yesterday as the chief guest, reports BSS.
Addressing a public meeting on the occasion, Shahriar Alam said power supply is indispensable and there is no alternative of it for elevating the living and livelihood condition of the people in general besides upholding the country's development and production.
For this reason, the present government has attached highest priority to the sector and has been implementing massive and effective projects.By this year end, all the households in Bagha and Charghat Upazilas will get power supply.
