Bridge collapses in Sunamganj -The Asian Age

The commuters have been suffering as another bridge has been collapsed at Jogonnathpur area in Sunamganj district recently.

In the other hand approaches of both road sides have been broken, boat connection under the bridge has been stopped.
Locals said, they have made a bamboo bridge voluntarily beside the collapsed one. Commuters are crossing the Baishak-hali canal by bamboo bridge which is risky.

 In 2014 this bridge was constructed by Tk 20 lakh under Relief and Disaster Management Ministry. Then the bridge was not inaugurated formally. After that the approaches of the both sides of the bridges began to collapse.

Our correspondent in a visit found that any time the bridge may occur a big accident. Cilaura-Holdipur Union Panel Chairman Babul Mahmud complained about the irregularities of the bridge.
