Nasir not confident about Australia series -The Asian Age

Nasir Hossain once used to be a regular face in the Bangladesh national squad. Even he was adorably called as 'Mr. Finisher' by the general spectators. But for last couple of years, he is no more a regular member of the Bangladesh squad.

Nasir's position has been like on and off of late. There are many controversy theories as to why Nasir is not in the squad. But Nasir, not giving an ear to any of them, just focuses on the process of his comeback to the team. The national cricketers are currently having a fitness camp in Mirpur ahead of the impending series against Australia and South Africa. After finishing Sunday's (July 16) session of fitness camp, Nasir talked to the newsmen where he revealed his aspirations to be back in the national side.

He said, "I am working really hard. Getting into the team or not - that's not in my hands. But I am doing my work with full heart. I am very confident that if things continue to go like now, I will be on my way back to the national team for sure."

The all-rounder also added, "My main focus is now on fitness. When batting-bowling sessions will start, I will shift my concentration on them. But to perform well, good performance helps till 60 percent. So I am trying to be in good shape fitness-wise,".

However, Nasir is not much confident about coming back directly in the two-match Test series against Australia as he said: "At the moment I am not thinking about Test cricket. If I get a go in the ODI team, I will make the best attempt to deliver what the team wants from me."

All-rounder Nasir Hossain spoke after the day as he explained the importance of ongoing fitness camp. He said, "Not only a cricketer, but also a sportsman or someone outside of sports also need to maintain their fitness. As we are players, fitness help us 60% to perform well.

So far we are doing great in this regard. If we can continue this fitness camp well in the next 2-3 weeks, then it will help us as we have many games in the upcoming days. It will also help us to be in a good physical shape in the next one year," reports BCB.

Nasir also pointed on the significant change in the player's mindset which helps the team for success. "The big change in our team is the confidence. All are playing to win. No one thinks to lose regardless the opponent.
