A Dhaka court yesterday placed four suspected militants, who surrendered to members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) during an anti-militant drive in Ashulia on Sunday, on a four-day remand. Senior Judicial Magis-trate Fairuz Tasnim of Dhaka passed the order when Unu Mong, senior assistant superintendent of police of RAB-4 and also the investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court seeking a 10-day remand for each of them.
The four suspected militants Mozammel Haq, Rashedun Nabi, Erfan Ul Haq and Mohammd Alamgir Hosain were remanded in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act on April 27 with Savar Police Station on the outskirts of the capital. On April, 27, police arrested three suspected members of JMB along with explosive materials during an anti-militant drive at Rajphulbaria Bus Stand in Savar.
On Sunday, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in an anti-militant raid on a hideout at Chakalgram-Chourapara in Ashulia , arrested the four suspected militants, aged between 20 and 22, following their surrendered to the elite force as they were asked to do so through a loudspeaker. Later they were shown arrested in the case filed with Savar Police Staiton on April 27.
