Centre for Studies Mass Media Inter-Religious Dialogue (CSMMID) in Khulna in a press release on Tuesday slammed the brutal killings of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
Dialogue Center representative said, 'No religion recognizes any kind of killing. We protest the Rohingya killings strongly.' He added, "Murder is a grave sin but millions of Rohingya Muslim men, women and children have been being brutally killed in the region. Children and women are fleeing to neighboring countries in fear of life.'
The representative of the Interreligious Study and Dialogue Center praised the government of Bangladesh for staying beside the endangered Rohiynga people and giving them shelter.
It is noted that, Interreligious Study and Dialogue Center has been working for bringing peace among people of different religions.
They are working to stop religious conflicts and ensuring co-existence of people of different religious beliefs. Centre for Studies Mass Media Inter-Religious Dialogue (CSMMID) works for peace and harmony among the different religious groups in Bangladesh. In the last two weeks an estimated 370,000 Rohingya refugees have sought safety in Bangladesh, according to the UNHCR.
The limited shelter capacity is already exhausted. Refugees are now squatting in makeshift shelters that have mushroomed along the road and on available land in the Ukhiya and Teknaf areas.
The Rohingya are a stateless Muslim minority in Myanmar who have faced discrimination and extreme poverty for decades. They have not been allowed to exercise their basic rights including the freedom to move, right to education, work and other social, civil and political rights.
