The body of a sewer worker, who went missing after entering a manhole to clean the sewerage line near Chalantika intersection on Milk Vita Road at Dhaka's Mirpur-7 on Tuesday afternoon, was found dead nearly after 24 hours.
A group of sewer workers went down the manhole to clean the line around 3:30pm on Tuesday. All except one worker, aged around 18-20, subsequently came out. Being informed, a team from Mirpur Fire Service station went to the spot and started a rescue operation from Tuesday afternoon.
They recovered the body of the missing worker from 300-400 meters off the spot around 3:40pm yesterday afternoon. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained till filing of this report. The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for post mortem.
